Days 1 - Arrival, Kibale National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport in Kampala, you will be met by our representative and after introductions, you will depart the capital city and head west to Fort Portal, with lunch en route. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to Kibale National Park. On arrival you check in at to the preferred accommodation of choice to dinner and overnight.

Days 2 - Kibale Forest National Park

After your early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyankyu tourists Centre at 0800 hours for a briefing to prepare you for a Chimpanzee walk. The guide will then lead you on an informative walk regarding the habitats in this wonderful tropical forest while searching for the major chimpanzees, including other habitats as red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, L’Hoest monkeys, and many others primates and birds such as the blue breasted Kingfisher, black billed Turaco, Pied Hornbill, Chestnut winged Starlings and many more, lucky you might also spot forest elephants in here. Upon sighting the chimpanzees, you will stay with them for one unforgettable hour as they continue their daily routine – growling, grooming, feeding, taking care of the young ones and agilely climbing up trees. Return for lunch then after lunch, there will be a nature walk to the Bigodi Wetland. The walk is a community based activity set up to enable tourists give back to the community and yet enjoy the nature offered by the swamp like the many colorful butterflies, birds and a variety of plant species. At the end of the afternoon you will retire to the preferred accommodation of choice to dinner and overnight.

Days 3-4 - Jinja, River Nile

Jinja, Source of the Nile and Kampala. Leaving Lake Nakuru we head for Uganda and Kampala, via the Malaba border with its hundreds of transport trucks awaiting customs clearance. Scenery along the way consists of local villages, sugar and tea plantations and as much of this drive is at altitudes around 2000 metres above sea level you will also see fields of pyrethrum, distinguishable by its white and yellow flowers. The juice from the pyrethrum plant is a natural insect repellent and is harvested commercially and used to treat materials such as mosquito netting and clothes. After entering Uganda
we cross the Nile River at its source near Jinja, on the shores of Lake Victoria before arriving in Kampala, Uganda’s capital. Kampala is a large modern city that has been rebuilt after its decimation by Idi Amin and the chaos of his rule.

Day 5-6 - Kyaninga

Kyaninga Lodge, Fort Portal. Early morning transfer for the long drive to Fort Portal where you will overnight at one of the most spectacular lodges in Africa.

Day 7 - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning free to relax and enjoy the spectacular location above a crater lake before driving on to ‘Kyambura Game Lodge’ (stunningly situated high on a ridge with a
view of a watering hole below) at Queen Elizabeth National Park (a journey of approximately 4 hours). In the afternoon you will take a game drive near the Mweya Peninsula with a focus on Elephant, Lion and the rare Leopard.

Day 8 - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park. Early morning jeep safari in Queen Elizabeth NP. This afternoon you will be taken for a cruise on the Kazinga Channel to experience the spectacle of the highest concentration of hippo in the world. Overnight again at Kyambura.

Day 9 - Bwindi National Park

Bwindi. After breakfast you will be driven to the ‘Engagi lodge’ at Bwindi (a journey of approximately 3 hours). Afternoon free to explore the surrounding forest and nearby communities.

Day 10 - Bwindi National Park

Gorilla Trekking, Bwindi. after an early breakfast you will be transferred to the park headquarters to commence your Gorilla Trekking.

Day 11 - Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park. After breakfast you will drive for about 6- 7 hours to reach the Mihingo Lodge’ at Lake Mburo. In the late afternoon you will be taken for a game drive around the park.

Day 12 - Lake Mburo National Park, Kampala, Depart

Lake Mburo-Kampala. Morning drive inside Lake Mburo National Park. Later you will be driven back Kampala. Trip ends.
